I am Purak Jain, an applied science manager at AWS based in Seattle.
I started my career as a software engineer, then moved into applied science, and now I lead a 2-pizza distributed team of senior scientists and engineers. Along the way, I have come to believe that (most) hard problems are fundamentally incentive design problems — whether you are shaping a loss function, an API contract, or an org structure!
Outside of work, I buy more books than I will ever read, enjoy planning trips far more than taking them and chase the perfect cup of tea.
